Google TV was announced in Google I/O 2010 - Day 2.

No doubt this is supposed to be the logical next step in converging our media and communication portals. But the inherent challenge I see with this idea is, it is going to take a really long time in plugging billions of TV’s around the with a newer set top box, not to mention in regions outside US, example India where broadband penetration is still dwindling. Regardless, thanks to Google for trying to find a more efficient way for people to sink their time :) The irony is TV was used to be called the “idiot” box by some folks! Are you there people? Even Google is interested in TV, LOL!
